This post does not pretend to be a full catalog of disappearances, human rights abuses and illegal detentions now happening in the United States in 2025, but simply a bookmark to some more comprehensive lists - and actions that can be taken.
the-disappeared.com : individual stories and action items of those originally taken to CECOT; most of the Venezuelan nationals have been released, but thirty or more Salvadorean nationals remain disappeared into this terror prison despite no evidence of a crime. Also contains stories of individuals in ICE detention in the US.

Several individuals have been detained for political reasons, and while some such as Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk and Mohsen Mahdawi have been released, others including remain in detention because of their political speech. Some accepted deportation, including Alfredo Zeferino, a farmworker organizer who was taken by breaking the window of his car. Zeferino advocated for and won legal protection for farmworkers to provide a rest break, and was working on a rent increase cap at the time he was grabbed.

The deportations to CECOT have highlighted deeper concerns about the conditions for people also in El Salvador
The government of El Salvador denies human rights groups access to its prisons and has only allowed journalists and social media influencers to visit CECOT under highly controlled circumstances.
