Human Rights Survey

1) Do you have any current procedures in place for making a decision as to whether or not you will do business in countries where governments are currently committing human rights violations? If you do have procedures for this what are they?

   B) Ask your contacts in mainland China if there is anything that can be done to ensure the safety of the individuals in Hong Kong, and act on any suggestions they give you

   C) Inform your contacts in mainland China that if the violence continues or the Hong Kongers are not released, you will terminate or change your business contract

   D) Terminate business dealings with the Chinese Communist Party if they are responsible for the violence

   E) Do nothing

If you will respond in some other way(s) we would love to know that will look like, and we welcome you to fill in the area below:

3) If protesters in Hong Kong begin to die, would the numbers of individuals killed matter before your company issued a response? A response could be anything from a retaliatory ending of business with China, to a more simple denunciation of the government’s actions.

4) There is credible evidence that many Uyghurs (a muslim minority group in China) have been disappeared from their homes. Specific documented testimonies are available for over 5000 individuals, and video testimony was released last month from over 50 families. UN estimates put the approximate number of Uyghurs currently in camps at over 1 million. There is also credible testimony of physical and psychological abuse in the concentration camps.

Arken Tuniaz, a Xinjiang vice governor stated that the majority of Uyghurs have been released. Amnesty International has refuted China’s claim that individuals have been let go. An example of an individual who has been disappeared is Husenjan Asqar, a prominent Uyghur scholar and linguist, who has not been heard from since he disappeared in 2018.

Given this credible documented information, please give an answer as to how your company plans on responding to these human rights violations. Will you:

   A) Issue a statement deploring the move by the Chinese government

   B) Ask your contacts in mainland China if there is anything that can be done to ensure the release of those in the Xinjiang concentration camps, and act on suggestions they give you

   C) Inform your contacts in mainland China that if the Uyghurs being held in camps are not released, you will terminate or change your business contract

   D) Terminate business dealings with the Chinese Communist Party

   E) Do nothing
